These Terms of Service govern the use of the Civic Tide website and platform.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Civic Tide website or platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, you may not use the Civic Tide website or platform.

These terms apply to all visitors, users, and organizations that access or use the Civic Tide service.

2. Description of the Service

Civic Tide provides software designed to help municipalities analyze operational infrastructure data, including service requests, maintenance records, and infrastructure incidents.

The platform transforms operational data into structured intelligence that infrastructure teams can use to understand patterns, prioritize action, and improve performance.

3. Platform Access

Access to the Civic Tide platform may require an account. Organizations are responsible for maintaining the security of their accounts, including usernames, passwords, and access credentials.

You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account. If you become aware of any unauthorized use of your account, you should notify Civic Tide immediately at hello@civictide.us.

4. License to Use the Platform

Civic Tide grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use the Civic Tide platform for internal operational purposes in accordance with these Terms of Service.

The Civic Tide platform, including its software, technology, design, and intellectual property, remains the property of Civic Tide. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the platform or its underlying technology.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Civic Tide platform in a lawful and responsible manner. You may not:

  • Misuse the platform or attempt to disrupt its operation
  • Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or extract the source code of the Civic Tide software
  • Use the platform in ways that violate applicable federal, state, or local laws
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other accounts, systems, or networks connected to the platform
  • Use the platform to transmit malicious code, viruses, or harmful software

6. Data Ownership

Municipalities retain ownership of their operational data submitted to the Civic Tide platform. Civic Tide does not claim ownership of municipal data processed through the platform.

Civic Tide may use aggregated, anonymized data to improve the platform and develop new features, provided that such use does not identify specific municipalities or compromise data security.

7. Disclaimer

The Civic Tide platform is provided as a software tool to assist municipalities in analyzing operational infrastructure data. Operational decisions, infrastructure maintenance, and public works management remain the responsibility of the municipality.

Civic Tide does not guarantee specific operational outcomes or infrastructure performance improvements. The platform is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Civic Tide shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages resulting from your use of or inability to use the platform.

This includes, but is not limited to, damages for loss of data, loss of revenue, or operational disruptions, even if Civic Tide has been advised of the possibility of such damages.

9. Changes to Terms

Civic Tide may update these Terms of Service periodically. When changes are made, the updated terms will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.

Continued use of the Civic Tide platform after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
